Sponsor:

The Carbon Games is a Lisbon-based technology startup dedicated to developing interactive, real-world solutions at the intersection of mobility, sustainability, and technology. At Azul Game Jam, we are excited to showcase SCIPLANT XR, an innovative Extended Reality (XR) urban planning tool that is funded by Horizon Europe under the CORTEX² project. SCIPLANT XR revolutionizes city planning through immersive simulations and real-time data visualization, enabling users to interact with dynamic city models, analyze urban environments, and explore sustainable planning solutions in an engaging, hands-on way. We invite all participants to experience SCIPLANT XR on our META Quest 3 headsets during the event and share their feedback. As a token of appreciation, all testers who provide feedback will be entered into a raffle for a chance to win a gift card at the end of the hackathon. Don’t miss the opportunity to experience the future of urban planning and be part of shaping its development!

FAQ

What is Azul Game Jam?

Azul Game Jam is an in-person game development marathon, where participants work together in teams in order to deliver a themed game within 48 hours. The theme is revealed on-site, right before the start of the marathon.

The event is open to everyone, whether you are a hobbyist, a student, or a professional. Creating games is a collaborative endeavor, where programmers, artists, writers, and sound designers are equally valued. You are always welcome, regardless of your level of expertise. A ticket needs to be acquired in order to participate.

You must be 18 years old or older to participate.

The ticket allows you to enter the game jam, attend the panel given by the guest speaker, network and connect with like-minded people and, most importantly, have a great time!

If you have purchased the ticket+t-shirt combo, you can pick up your event t-shirt at the registration desk during the event.

Unfortunately, you will not be able to sleep on the event site. To contribute for a more chill jamming experience, the site will be closed between 00:00-07:00 on both nights. We recommend you have a good night’s rest at home or find accommodation nearby.

While there will be no meal-catering service during the event, we will provide some snacks and beverages for you to enjoy 🙂

No, you don’t need to have it all figured out in order to participate in the jam! While it is reassuring to have a pre-made team, you can still make one with the people you meet on site, or even through our Discord Server [link].

You need to bring all the equipment you would usually use for working on a game, with all the necessary software installed. We provide desks, power outlets, and Wi-Fi. Anything else you might need, make sure to bring yourself!

Don’t forget that you are responsible for your own equipment and for any damage you cause to others’ belongings.

If you bought a ticket but are unable to go to the jam site during one or more of the days, you are free to connect with the other participants in your team remotely and continue working.

You can get the t-shirt by buying the ticket+t-shirt combo on our tickets page and picking it up from the registration desk on the day of the event.

Unfortunately, for this edition we are not planning on selling t-shirts in person during the event.
